Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections are gaining popularity for a variety of conditions, from sports injuries to hair loss. The treatment uses a patient’s own blood cells to accelerate healing in a specific area.

PRP is a form of cosmetic injectable treatment that uses the client’s own platelet rich plasma. The plasma component contains stem cells and growth rich platelets. When injected back into the skin, it accelerates the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin to provide overall skin rejuvenation.

Using PRP treatment is well known to rejuvenate the skin while adding volume and enhancing skin tone and texture. Also known as the Vampire Facial, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a highly acclaimed treatment which uses the body’s own resources to repair and rebuild skin cells.
PRP improves overall skin texture, decreases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and eyes, and plumps hollowing areas such as tear trough grooves, cheeks, and temples. PRP can also help smooth both acne and surgical scars. PRP Facial Rejuvenation takes about an hour to complete.
How long do PRP injections last? While each person is unique, the majority of patients can enjoy their fresh, youthful new look for up to 6-12 months after PRP injections.
While PRP is considered safe for most people, it’s not recommended for anyone who has one of the following medical conditions: Hepatitis C. HIV or AIDS. Any type of blood cancer. See our PRP Consultation Form.
Results will reduce fine lines and wrinkles, tighten and tone skin, brighten, minimise dark circles under the eyes, shrink pore appearance, repair acne scarring and rosacea.
Immediately following the procedure, the most commonly reported temporary side effects are redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, tingling, numbness, lumpiness, and/or a feeling of pressure or fullness at the injection sites and/or in the treated area(s).
Following your PRP injections, your body will produce new cells and collagen, which will continue to develop in the months following treatment. These new cells will add volume to your cheeks and hands, plumping your skin and erasing wrinkles and folds.

How many PRP sessions are required?

Most PRP therapy requires three treatments 4 – 6 weeks apart. maintenance treatments are required every 4 – 6 months
